If you followed my Twitter updates while we were in Turkey, you might have gathered we had a less than stellar start to our stay there. First, we failed to notice the mosque right next door to our first apartment block – which means we were awoken with a start at 5am the next morning by the call to prayer (which happened every single day).
Secondly, we kind of ignored the fact we didn’t really want/plan to stay in that part of the country but for various reasons ended up booking the apartment there for 1 month – and then got totally ripped off when it came to getting our deposit back and the fact we were charged £140 for 3 weeks of electricity. Ouch.
And thirdly on our road trip along the coast, we got a speeding ticket for being 2kph over the limit (obviously we were penalised for being foreign, as several people pointed out on Twitter). No matter, we learn a lot each & every time we go somewhere new and this time was no exception.

Most of us have been burned online by the lure of some “top secret”-this or “super exclusive”-that which turns out to be an expensive waste of time and money and which we regret buying, reading, listening to or generally paying any attention to at all. Fortunately, this is not one of those things.
Before I tell you about some of the ways these skills can help you, I’d like you to stop for a moment, & imagine having the location independent lifestyle you desire. What does it mean for you? More free time? More disposable income? More opportunity to travel the world? Whatever lifestyle you desire, I think you’ll agree that honing the right skills is vital in helping us get what we want.
