An area of the nomadic, work from anywhere lifestyle that’s not often discussed is health care and what it costs.
Maybe it’s because many digital nomads are fit, young & healthy still and haven’t had to avail themselves of the facilities yet but for those of us getting on a bit (she says at the grand old age of 32, almost 33!) or if you’re travelling with children or have an existing health issue, then you may be more concerned about the availability & quality of health care overseas as you travel the world.

Successfully making the transition from corporate cubicle worker to location independent entrepreneur is a great goal. Becoming your own boss, traveling the world while still earning an income and having the freedom to do what you want with your time are a few of the many perks of this lifestyle.
While I cannot claim to be location independent yet, for the last several months I’ve been on a trial run. I spent the first 5 years of my post-college life working for a Fortune 500 company. I met some great people, learned a lot, but ultimately realized it wasn’t for me. Thanks to the help of the 12 Week Challenge, I have now officially launched my first attempt at creating a location independent business.
However, there are aspects of the live & work from anywhere lifestyle that I definitely hadn’t considered before my trial run and the transition from a large corporation to aspiring location independent entrepreneur has come with its fair share of surprises…
