One of my many fears of travelling halfway around the world is that I’m going to leave some important file sitting behind in my home office. Up until the advent of virtual storage systems my only course of action was to get someone to break into my office, find the file and email it to me. A pretty big pain in the butt if you ask me!
These days, with storage systems like DropBox, I can dump files and be out the door without much worry – unless of course, I’ve forgotten to put important files into “the cyber cloud” but hey, no one’s perfect!
If you’ve never heard of DropBox before, boy are you missing out. It’s a simple way to store your files in an online location that you can then retrieve from any computer with Internet access. I like to think of it as my own virtual file cabinet that floats about in Internet space.

I’d like to think of myself as the sort of the person that grabs opportunity by the throat. The type that doesn’t enter a room but kicks down the door and combat barrel rolls inside.
The reality is – I’m not like that in the least!
When I perceive opportunities I take tiny steps like a man slowly entering a freezing lake and trying not to disturb his sensitive bits. Strangely however, when the ultimate decision to freelance came my way, there was a whole lot more combat rolling and whole lot less screaming like a baby.
