Today’s scheduled post should have been this month’s podcast – the one where we talk about Grenada as a location independent destination and discuss how we get clients & customers for our businesses whilst travelling around the world.
It’s not going to happen until the weekend though (crying babies tend to mess schedules up a little – especially when they involve trying to make recordings which require a silent background!) so we thought we’d switch things up a little, do the podcast at the weekend and write the weekend update today.
I normally use this weekend update to let you know about new products, developments and updates we’ve launched or got coming up at Location Independent HQ – and this week is no different…
Help Us Help You
I wrote in the last update about the Global Costs of Living Wiki – thanks to those of you who’ve started to help fill this in. We’ve now got some cost of living information for Barbados, Bergen (Norway), Vancouver, Panama, Phuket and Cape Town but we still need lots more, especially if this is going to become a valuable resource for the community.
Please do help add the cost of living for your home town – no matter whether you think people will want to visit it or not!
Note: To add a new page to the wiki, you’ll need to register first (just to keep the spammers out) and then the simplest way to add a location that doesn’t yet exist is to type the URL of the page you want to add into the browser address bar.
We’re Going Global!
We’ve now got an official launch date for the Spanish & French versions of LocationIndependent.com – November 1st. And hopefully before then, we’ll be launching Turkish & German versions of the site too. We are super excited about these developments and are very lucky to have found and be working with some exceptional partners on each site, who we’ll be introducing at a later date.
If you have any friends or family around the world who speak any of these languages – and who would benefit from joining our new communities as we launch them, please prime them and send them our way. Location Independence shouldn’t just be for the English-speaking among us!
An Official Store
If you’re a long time reader of the blog, you’ll know that we don’t really push the products we’ve created too hard or too much on the site – you either want & need them or you don’t. But we’ve had feedback in the past that some of you don’t really know what we sell and what’s on offer on the site which isn’t ideal for either side!
The relatively recent updates to the site structure have hopefully helped somewhat but I still don’t think it’s enough so we’re soon going to be consolidating all the products on offer into an official “store” which means that they’ll be easier to find and enable you to browse through exactly what resources we have on offer here.

As I said, it’s pretty mad around here at the moment – and we’re having to do all this around the schedule of a 7 week old babe who doesn’t exactly have a regular schedule – so if we slip a little on some of these dates, I hope you’ll understand :)

Looking good Lea. Glad to see the Global Costs of Living Wiki is getting fleshed out. Tis a brilliant feature.
I’ve been busy with that thing we talked about, but I’ll work on our city soon. Though your Grenada pictures always make me wonder if I should be there instead :-)
I love that Global Costs of Living Wiki. That is just such a great idea. And expanding to other languages is really exciting. I’m looking forward to seeing how that works out.
Thanks for the feedback guys…the Global Costs of Living wiki is just waiting for your local city info too ;)
@James – Grenada is a pretty nice place to chill out for a couple of months…would highly recommend it if you like tropical island life!
