Welcome to this week’s “Weekend Update” – our weekly round-up of the main goings-on at Location Independent HQ, a reminder of some of the resources we have here and a heads up of some things to come…
Introducing The Littlest LIP…
Mali Hope Woodward, 8lbs 110z was born to the proudest of parents by emergency c-section on the 4th July – quite a fitting date for the babe, don’t you think?!?
After somewhat of a tough birth experience (2 days of pre-labour contractions, 12 hours of active labour then a c-section with complications), we’re now all home and on the road to recovery.
We’re enjoying getting to know each other and plotting where she feels she might like to start her world tour when she’s got a bit more fat on those cheeks :)
Resource Reminder
As you hopefully know, our mission here at LocationIndependent.com is to be your “go to” resource for anything & everything related to location independence – whatever type you’re aiming for. That’s certainly one of the main reasons we’ve been expanding the resources, voices and features here on the blog in recent weeks.
The site has grown pretty quickly in recent months and our last overhaul should have made it easier to find & access all the resources we currently offer. If not, here’s a very brief summary of what’s here (these are in order of cost – from totally free to the ones you have to pay for):
- The blog – updated at least twice a week with articles from us, our writers & guests.
- The Community Clubhouse – meet & network with like-minded LIPs and aspiring LIPs.
- Tech Tutorials – a range of free PDF tutorials sharing some pretty cool tips!
- The LIBRA – a free Location Independent Business Readiness Assessment.
- The Little LIP Destination Guides – a range of custom-created guides specifically for LIPs.
- T-shirts & website/blog buttons – be proud of & show off your LIP status online & offline!
- The Book – the original & updated ebook giving you the basic blueprint to become location independent.
- The Business Course – a comprehensive, 6 module course to help you create a real business you can run from anywhere.
Ongoing Projects
We have a number of ongoing projects & some really big, exciting developments planned over the coming months. I can’t say too much about all of them but one in particular is, I hope, going to be game-changing (and maybe in your case, life-changing!!).
In the meantime, here are some of our current ongoing projects…
The Crowdsourced Ebook – you may remember that we’re producing an ebook “The 101 Best Tips on Being Location Independent” but we need your help to do this. We’ve had some great submissions already but need plenty more.
You don’t have to be location independent yet – you may still be on your journey there – but you’ve probably already learned plenty of valuable things along the way – do please share them with others who can learn from your experience.
Ask The Coach – Not so much a project but a monthly feature on the blog, our Ask The Coach section is your opportunity to get the help of a professionally qualified life coach to help you achieve your goals of location independence. Submit your question to Cath Duncan, our resident life coach and she’ll answer it for you (anonymously if you prefer) right here on the blog.
This is valuable stuff – Cath obviously charges for her usual life coaching services and if you’ve read any of the past “Ask The Coach” posts, you’ll know she puts just as much effort into the coaching insights & tips she shares in her posts here, so make the most of it!
That’s it for this week…time to go & feed the hungry babe :)

Littlest LIP! What a little doll . . .and what a head of hair. I’m jealous. Keep up the great work.
Mali is beautiful, congrats to you and Jonathan.
You guys continue to create even more unbelievably useful resources, and I really appreciate that a lot. I’m on my way to becoming an LIP, and my progress so far has been very much due to this blog and the awesome stuff it offers. Thank you!
Congrats Lea, she sure is a beautiful one and wish you all the best :)
Congratulations to the proud parents. Long live the little one!!

Congratulations to you both. It will be wonderful to hear how this little doll grows into her role as a “mini-LIP”.
Congratulations! What a lucky girl, being born to such an inspiring couple. So looking forward to hearing how she progresses. Life is such a gift. Just sorry to hear that the birth was rather “eventful”!
