Weekend Update: Let Us Know What Else You Want To See (And Buy!)

This weekend’s post is a little late in publishing mostly because Jonathan and I have been attending our “Parentcraft” classes over the past 2 days. Aside from planning what outfit the little madam is going to wear when she makes her first appearance on this and our other blogs (I realise my priorities might be a little off here!), it’s given us the kick we need to get the practicalities of her impending arrival sorted out.

But back to the Location Independent project…this week we’ve got a few new announcements to share and some reminders of a few things coming up which are all designed to help you in your pursuit of your own location independent lifestyle:

Site Features & Updates

Site Tweaks

Following on from the tweaks we recently made to the home page in an effort to make the site easier to get into for new visitors, we’ve got a few more tweaks and updates planned over the coming weeks.

We get unsolicited feedback all the time from readers (always welcome!) so if you’ve got anything to share with us about what you’d like to see or how you think the site could be improved from a layout, usability and design perspective, then do get in touch.

‘Official’ Location Independent Photographer

One of the biggest time sucks for me when it comes to managing this site, is finding relevant and inspiring photos to use for each post. Ever since I connected with the lovely Amy Palko (on Twitter originally) I’ve been a fan of her photography.

Amy is not a professional photographer, nor does she use a fancy pants DSLR camera but the results she gets are stunning. You can check out (and buy) her prints here and watch out for Amy’s images appearing on our posts in the future.

Freebies & Product Updates

Location Independent Teleclass

As mentioned last week, I’m doing a free Teleclass with Cath Duncan (of our “Ask The Coach” feature) this week on Wednesday, 27th at 6pm BST (London)/ 10am PST/ 1pm EST. You can sign up to attend the free teleseminar here.

Location Independent Products

Ever since I decided to make the change and start focusing on this project as more of a full time business versus a side hobby, I’ve had a very clear idea of the range of products & services I want to provide.

Of course, now this project seems to be going in all sorts of directions I never imagined, a whole new set of ideas are constantly surfacing – both ours, team members and from you guys. I’d really like to make sure however that we’re providing what you guys actually want & need to see, not just what we think you do.

So I’d appreciate it if you have 2 minutes spare, if you could drop me a line and let me know what tools, resources, products & services you’d really like to see, feel you need and of course, would consider buying.

As a quick reminder, here’s what already on offer:

FREE Tools, Services & Products

  • DIY Tech Tutorials – step-by-step guides including one on how to set up your own self-hosted Wordpress website/blog in less than an hour >>>
  • The LIBRA – the free Business Readiness Assessment Tool >>>
  • Ask The Coach - ask our coach how to overcome your key challenges >>>
  • The Clubhouse – our Ning-based chat & discussion forum open to everyone >>

PAID FOR Tools, Services & Products

  • X Marks The Spot – the original book charting our journey & how we got started >>>
  • The Little LIP Destination Guides – our custom-created destination guides designed to save you the hours of research often required to find out whether a location is LIP-friendly >>>
  • Build A Location Independent Business - the 6-module business course (also available in bundles of 2 modules) designed to help you create a business you can run from anywhere >>>

Once again, I’d really appreciate it if you could drop me a line and let me know what tools, resources, products & services we don’t yet provide that you could really do with – we want to make this the “go to” resource for anyone wanting to live a location independent lifestyle but we need your help to do that. Thanks!

    Hey

I’d like to see interviews of more location independent people, hear how they did it. Case studies.
