If you know me and have been following one or more of my blogs for a while, you’ll know that I’m a bit partial to visual change – which includes a site theme change at least, oh twice a year!
Reading this in your feed reader? Hop on over and see the revised design. It’s essentially the same theme but with a much cleaner look & feel to it. In summary, these are the main changes that might affect you:
- A whole new brand – I’ve never been entirely happy with the logo (it was something I forced Jonathan to whip up in about 10 minutes), so we thought it was time for a new, properly-designed one.
- Streamlined sidebar – with no adverts (except for our own products).
- Addition of a mailing list sign-up box for priority updates of new products, teleseminars, networking calls and anything else we want to announce to our most enthusiastic members!
- A Team section, linking to current members of our small team.
Can You Help?
- I’m still looking for 1 or 2 more writers for the blog. They are paid positions although the frequency of posts per month is currently limited due to budget constraints. If you or anyone you know is interested and qualified, please get in touch.
- We will soon be launching a new range of “Destination Guides” with the help of…y’all! If you feel you have the local knowledge of a specific destination and would like to earn some recurring passive income by helping us create a guide, get in touch.
We have some big plans for this site and I’m hoping the new design provides a good platform for this.

Lea, love the cleaner look! I’m a lurker from the RSS crowd.
Suggestion: I see only girls so far. Aren’t any (good) guys applying to write?
As for your guides, I’m interested in contributing. I lived in Sao Paulo (Brazil), for 24 years; I’ve been living in Kobe (Japan) for the past two years. I feel comfortable writing about both cities. I also lived in Buenos Aires (Argentina) for six months, but that was back in 2005. From what I heard from my Argentinian friends, prices changed a lot!
And a small detail: the URL text in the comments section needs correction. It’s URl, so either go for Url or URL.
Cheers, D.
Thanks Diogo, didn’t see that as it doesn’t show it to me when I’m logged in and commenting – should hopefully be changed now though.
Yes, all girls…I am looking for boys too and it’s something I’ve mentioned to a few but no takers so far.
I’ll be putting a page up about the guides tomorrow so there’ll be more info about how to create the guides then. Look forward to your entries :)
Hi,
I can and want to help. I am in Ireland and quite male.
Let me know if you want me to submit a test post etc.
Love the site.
Hi Lea,
The new look is great. I actually liked the old logo – thought it captured the idea of a roving internet-based business quite well. This one looks more professional though so it’s all good!
I’m becoming an avid fan of your blog and the concept of LIL!
If the first month of the year is a test to how the rest will pan out, I’ll be location indie by mid year! Would love to guest post anytime. Redesign looks great, love the new logo. Good work Jonathon and Lea.
Lea – I really like the new theme. Much cleaner. The new logo is snazzy too. Great work! Looking forward to more LIP good-ness in the near future.
Hi Lea
Like the new logo….. fits very well with my whole freebird concept too….
The layout is super clean, fresh and easy to navigate… well done…
Be in touch soon..
Tina
Hi Lea,
I’d love to write for you!
Check out my current blogs, LiveWorkDream and Tripawds.
I’m a fulltime RVer living life on the road while working from my laptop. If you’d like to chat, drop me a line!
Best wishes,

Woops! Sorry about that link, I forgot to close it. Dang, hope that doesn’t reflect badly on my writing!
Thanks for all the great feedback on the site/logo…and the interest in writing here.
I think we’re just about set for writers now – will be announcing on the blog in the coming weeks.
Would love to write for you! I currently live in Shanghai, but I’ve been all around China, Mongolia, Central Asia, Japan, etc. I’ve been writing full time for the past few months but travel writing and trip guides are my passion.
Love the blog!
